Kos, Once Again - People Ops During Transition
After my leave, I was asked to step back in during a leadership transition - not necessarily to “join again” at first, but to make a few key events happen because of the amount of operational information I had carried before.
Eventually, we agreed on my return later in April to stabilize the people side and keep momentum.
This phase was less about spotlight and more about reliability: communication, structure, clean handoffs, and making sure responsibilities were covered.
I was heading back to Europe after - so the job was simple: leave things better than I found them, and make the next chapter easier for whoever takes the wheel.
- Kept internal operations steady during transition: clarity in roles, priorities, and expectations
- Supported the team through coordination and execution across day-to-day moving parts
- Clean handoffs: documentation, ownership transfer
My STEM OPT extension was in debate, but returning to Europe was a choice I made before rejoining, and it felt like an exhale I didn't see any other way.
Bought a backpack and didn't see a workplace environment until a few months later.
